Metody dydaktyczne i sposoby weryfikacji efektów kształcenia: |
At the end of the course, students will be able: • to understand that the words they use and the words they decide not to employ, will always have an effect on others. Words convey not just literal meaning, but they also convey ideas, belief systems, etc. • to develop confidence and ability in reading in English o by applying various second language reading strategies strategy 1 strategy strategy 3 o by expanding their lexical knowledge, that is, increase their vocabulary, in both frequently used phrases and key political topics • to develop confidence and ability in speaking in English • to develop collaborative abilities by engaging in a group translation. Students will learn how to translate together as a group, each using their strengths to comprehend an English text on a political topic • to increase ability in understanding, synthesizing, and translating English text by applying a variety of strategies discussed in the course. This will also be achieved through exposure and interaction with a variety of text types (articles, political documents, speeches, social media posts, Vatican documents/Catholic church magisterium) |
