Short description:

The main goal of lecture and laboratory is to present knowledge about main topics in primatology.

Full description:

The first eight lectures will be conducted in the stationary system, and the remaining 7 in e-learning.

Characteristics of Primates families. Comparative anatomy of Primates, muscular and skeletal system, dentitions, body size, reproduction, diet adaptation.Behaviouristic aspects of tool usage. Species on the verge of extinction, habitat devastation, resources overuse. A view on animal saving foundations, wildlife reserve, reintroduction and restitution of Primates.

The main goal of laboratories is preparation of a observation: development of test records , observations of primates behavior at the zoo , the development of the database, using the methods of statistical analysis, presentation of results in the Power Point.

The student can take the exam after passing the exercises in the subject, as well as after passing all the quizzes available on the e-learning platform.

Final grade from exercises:

The student is obliged to participate in prime observations at the ZOO. One unjustified absence is allowed, except for classes at the ZOO. The grade depends on the grade obtained from the presentation of data at Power Point.

Assessment of the presentation:

- 5 (very good) - the student has complied with the requirements of the presentation, prepared, presented and discussed their own photos / videos. The student drew his own conclusions based on primate observations. The student used many sources, including articles (also in English), as well as information available on the Internet.

- 4 (db.) - the student has sufficiently complied with the requirements of the presentation, presented their own photos / videos. The student has sufficiently drawn his own conclusions based on primate observations. The student used several sources, including articles (also in English), as well as information available on the Internet.

- 3 (dst.) - the student has basic compliance with the requirements of the presentation, presented their own photos / videos. The student basically drew his own conclusions based on primate observations. The student at a basic level used sources, including articles, as well as information available on the Internet.
