Goals: the main goal - to inform on fundamental mechanisms and rules of emotional and motivational processes. The lectures comprise a presentation of contemporary interpretations of emotional and motivational phenomena.

Result of education: to shape fundamental schemas and opportunities to interpret human motivation and human emotional life.

1. Nature of emotion. Conception of emotion, categories of emotions, primary and secondary emotions

2. Classical psychological and physiological theories of emotion.

3. Emotion in biological perspective (Papez, MacLean, LeDoux)

4. Emotion from perspective of observer (role of expression)

5. Subjective perspective of emotion (cognitive theories of estimation)

6. Sociocultural interpretations of emotion

7. Conception of motivation. Parameters of motive, categories of motives

8. Diagnostic issues of emotions

9. Fundamental sources of motivation. from instinct to drive and need; needs for stimulation and activation

10. Mechanisms of strive to balance

11. Motives and emotions. Hedonistic and incentive theories of motivation; drives and emotions; frustration and motivation; motivational conflicts; crises

12. Theories "evaluation- expectation". Atkinson theory; evaluation and anticipation; Polish propositions

13. Values, meanings, goals as motives. Needs as a source of motives, mechanisms of meanings creation and choice of goals

14. Role of "self" in motivation.

Student has knowledge and comprehends differences between interpretations of emotion and motivation from distinct psychological perspectives. Knows theories of emotion and motivations, understands the meaning of emotions and motives in human life, identifies rules of development, mechanisms of their activation.

Understands the role of biological basis of emotions.

Is able to select instruments and techniques to diagnose emotional and motivational characteristics of individual

Przedmiot kończy się egzaminem pisemnym (3 otwarte pytania). Zaliczenie egzaminu wymaga odpowiedzi na minimum 1 pytanie.

Warunkiem przystąpienia do egzaminu jest zaliczenie ćwiczeń.
