  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

1. Specificity of qualitative methods as compared with quantitative methods; varieties of qualitative methods; specificity of mixed methods; various applications of qualitative and mixed methods

Knowledge:

LO1 understands importance of qualitative methods in psychology and its specificity as compared with quantitative methods; understands the term “mixed methods” and their specificity

LO2 has knowledge on paradigms which inspire research with the use of qualitative and mixed methods

LO3 has knowledge concerning role of theory in various qualitative methods

LO4 has knowledge on chosen research projects realized with the use of qualitative or mixed methods

Skills:

LO5 can find possible use of qualitative and mixed methods in various research projects

Competence:

LO7 is open for the worlds of meanings of other people; is conscious that the openness to dialogue and listening skills are crucial in the process of diagnosis and in the research with the use of qualitative methods

Assessment methods and assessment criteria: (in Polish)

Aktywność na zajęciach; egzamin pisemny na koniec II semestru, testowy (jednokrotnego wyboru lub do uzupełnienia); punktacja zaliczająca to 50%; dopuszczalna jest też forma egzaminu ustnego.
