The course aims to acquaint the students with the current state of knowledge about the psychology of health and psychology of welfare (also known as positive psychology).

Full description:

The course aims to acquaint the students with the current state of knowledge about the psychology of health and psychology of welfare (also known as positive psychology). The material presented over the course will include: definitions of the psychology of health, models used in the psychology of health and models of healthy behaviours, positive factors on health, and psychological aid used in the field of the psychology of health. The newest discoveries in the field of psychology of welfare will also be covered during the course. Moreover, three ways of understanding stress will be presented, as well as methods of coping with it.

PS_W13 student zna i rozumie, jakie jest znaczenie stresu, kryzysów, konfliktów w życiu człowieka oraz posiada wiedzę na temat zapobiegania i przeciwdziałania tym zjawiskom.

PS_W14 student zna i rozumie, jak analizować i interpretować rolę czynników sprzyjających zachowaniom zdrowotnym, uzależnieniom, zapobieganiu potencjalnym zaburzeniom rozwoju i patologii w zakresie procesów psychicznych.

PS_U12 student potrafi zaplanować i przeprowadzić oddziaływania psychoprofilaktyczne i psychoedukacyjne.

PS_K04 student jest gotów do organizowania szkoleń prezentujących problemy psychologiczne oraz analizowania praktycznych zagadnień psychologicznych.

- grade 2 (very good): The student has insufficient knowledge of selected topics from the field of the psychology of health, positive psychology, and the psychology of stress.

The aim of the course will be to familiarize students with the state of contemporary knowledge on health psychology, psychology of well-being (also known as positive psychology) and stress psychology.

Full description:

The purpose of the class will be to familiarize students with the state of contemporary knowledge of health psychology and psychology of well-being (also known as positive psychology). During the class, the following will be presented: definitions of health psychology, models used in health psychology and models of health behavior, factors that positively influence health and psychological help used in the field of health psychology. The class will also discuss the most important discoveries in the field of well-being psychology. In addition, three ways of understanding stress and coping strategies will be presented.
