Short description:

The aim of the lecture is to familiarize students with the methods of constructing psychological tools and the characteristics of their psychometric properties in the classical and modern (non-classical) approach. The issue of psychological diagnosis will also be addressed.

1. Basic psychometric problems.

2. The classic theory of tests.

3. Theory of Response to Item Items (IRT - Item Response Theory).

4. The theory of generalizability of results

5. Review of the tools most often used in psychological practice (ability tests, personality test tests).

6. Basics of psychological tests design.

7. Types of reliability and methods of its estimation. The discriminating power of test items.

8. Validity of the measurement - types of validity and estimation methods.

9. Agent accuracy of the tool.

10. Standardization and standardization of tools

11. Cultural adaptation of tests

12. Psychological tests and law and ethics.

13. Psychological diagnosis - preliminary issues.

14. Psychological interview as a diagnostic technique.

15. Observation and testing as diagnostic methods.

16. Practical and interpersonal competences in diagnosis. Ethical and legal aspects of psychological diagnosis.

Good grade: student knows concepts and psychometric theories well; knows the procedures for constructing tests well; can well indicate the procedures and methods of psychological diagnosis; correctly evaluates the quality of psychometric tools; a psychological interview and observation well.

For a satisfactory grade: the student knows psychometric concepts and theories; knows the procedures for constructing tests; can indicate the procedures and methods of psychological diagnosis; correctly evaluates the quality of psychometric tools; knows the basics of conducting psychological interview and observation.
