Short description: |
Course level: advanced. The goal of the course: The aim is to continue independent research in the field of clinical psychology, psychosomatics, and health psychology by students. Learning effect: Attitude - shaping research integrity Competence - mastering the principles of writing a diploma thesis at the master's level, statistical analysis and inference at the MA level , and finally writing the MA dissertation. Prerequisites: completed earlier years of study. |

1) Introducing students to seminar structure and its learning aims; 2) Getting sufficient knowledge regarding methodology of writing research papers/dissertations; 3) Acquiring knowledge about proper designing of research project in the domain of clinical psychology, psychosomatics, and health psychology; 4) Writing of the title of the project chosen and raising research questions; further literature study towards formulation of project hypotheses and research plan. 5) Completion of pilot studies and discussion upon preliminary results gathered; 6) preparing a scientific presentation on research data conducted as a part of exam; 7) working on "results discussion" section and "final conclusions" |

Each student chooses the literature individually in line with her/his interest within scope of clinical psychology, psychosomatics, and health psychology , This is to be discussed among students and subseqently is to be approved by the supervisor. Requirement: The acquaintance of English at least on passive level as well as the obligatory presence on seminars. |
Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS: |
Ability to project empirical researches. Determination of variables and hypotheses. Knowledge in a broader scope of methods and techniques which allows to conduct clinical research project. Management independently to elaborate instruments for realisation of researches compatible with thesis of diploma. Application of statistical techniques to interpretation of empirical data. Is competent in interpretation and in analysis of empirical results; is competent in selection of literature' content according to thesis of diploma. Preparation of report on results of researches. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
- Activity in-house - 30 hours. - Attendance is obligatory. - Preparing results presentation as a part of exam. - Assessment of scientific progress, including get acquainted with the literature on the subject, formulate a research problem, pose questions and research hypotheses, choose research methods and groups of people - therefore, the effect of the student's individual work is assessed, for whom it is prepared - at the end of this semester - MA dissertation as a whole . |

Seminar participants will learn the literature on the subject individually, adequately to the research problem sought after and then formulated. The purpose of individual research is to search for innovative topics in the domain of clinical psychology, neuroscience, psychosomatics, and health psychology, theoretical development and empirical verification of research hypotheses, as well as work on methodological workshop and raising the skill of editing scientific texts. |

Celem pracy studenta w ramach bieżącego seminarium dla studentów V roku jest: - interpretacja wyników badań pilotażowych - podnoszenie umiejętności redagowania tekstów naukowych. - redakcja pracy magisterskiej Zaliczenie semestru studentów IV roku nastąpi w oparciu o: - zaliczenie opracowania materiału pracy magisterskiej: abstraktu oraz wstępu; - zaliczenie opracowania rozdziału metoda oraz przygotowanie metodologii badań przed rekrutacją grup badanych Zaliczenie semestru studentów V roku nastąpi w oparciu o: - prezentację wyników pracy badawczej - zaliczenie opracowania rozdziału wyniki i dyskusja - redakcję pracy magisterskiej - obligatoryjną obecność na seminariach magisterskich. |
