ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 2.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Subject learning outcomes:

- The graduate knows and understands the fundamental dilemmas of modern civilization - including legal, ethical and other conditions regarding various types of professional activity, related to the principles of industrial property protection and copyright law.

- The graduate understands the basic principles of creating and developing various forms of entrepreneurship, including individual ones, based on respect for intellectual property rights.

The subject concerns the subject of intellectual property management and technological brokerage in the economy.

Full description:

The subject concerns the subject of intellectual property management and technological brokerage in the economy. As part of the subject, the current, applicable laws and regulations related to the protection of intellectual property rights are discussed. In addition, the economic aspects related to the availability and implementation strategy of new technologies in the economy, as well as the method of obtaining financing from the European Union funds are discussed.

Current, binding selected laws and regulations (from the Internet System of Legal Acts of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland), thematically related to the protection of intellectual property rights.

Legal analyses, selected texts devoted to the protection of intellectual property rights.

Selected materials (including the OSLO handbook) concerning the contemporary definition of innovation and understanding what modern technologies are.

Other selected, publicly available information materials related to the subject of innovation, as well as on how to obtain funding for projects involving innovative technologies.

Supplementary literature (fully available on constantly updated websites of institutions and other indicated entities).

Industry materials from manufacturers' websites, obtained on an ongoing basis, during the semester from updated manufacturers' websites.

Including:

- catalogs for the selection of devices and wires as well as installation fittings,

- guides,

- available current studies containing analyzes of recommendations according to applicable standards,

- manuals of selected computer programs.

Efekty kształcenia i opis ECTS:

The graduate knows and understands the fundamental dilemmas of modern civilization - including legal, ethical and other conditions regarding various types of professional activity, related to the principles of industrial property protection and copyright law.

The graduate understands the basic principles of creating and developing various forms of entrepreneurship, including individual ones, based on respect for intellectual property rights.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Form of passing the subject: a test covering 25-40 questions (one out of three answers is correct). A positive grade is obtained after obtaining at least 21 points. The grading system is modeled on the ECTS grading system.

Grades (score below applies to the 40-question variant, for other variants, proportional scoring applies):

2.0: 0-20 points

3.0: 21-22 points

3.5: 23-27 points

4.0: 28-33 points

4.5: 34-38 points

5.0: 39-40 points

At least 1 colloquium on part of the didactic material is planned (descriptive or in the form of a test).

Influence on the final grade: 30% of the final grade in the subject results from the grades obtained from the test/tests, 70% from the exam. Passing tests is a prerequisite for taking the exam.

Form of credit in the e-learning (online) mode used in connection with the epidemic threat:

Seminar: reports and oral answer.

Form of submitting works:

Sending via Moodle or by e-mail, possible conversation via Microsoft Teams as part of possible answers.

Reports should be sent by the end of May. Exam on time according to the schedule set by the Dean's Office.

Przedmiot dotyczy tematyki zarządzania własnością intelektualną i brokerstwa technologicznego w gospodarce. W ramach przedmiotu następuje omówienie aktualnych, obowiązujących ustawy i rozporządzeń powiązanych tematycznie z ochroną praw własności intelektualnej. Ponadto omówione są aspekty gospodarcze związane z dostępnością i strategią wdrażania nowych technologii w gospodarce, jak również ze sposobem uzyskiwania dofinansowań ze środków Unii Europejskiej.
