Course Level: Subject: Intermediate,

Objectives of the lecture: To familiarize students with theoretical foundations of stress psychology and to identify and classify stress sources. To familiarize students with theoretical foundations of coping psychology with stress and variables modifying remedial processes.

Effect of education: Ability to identify sources of stress and use theoretical notions of stress. Acquire the ability to diagnose stress responses and strategies and coping strategies.

Prerequisites: passing the subjects of theoretical psychology, especially in the fields of personality, emotion, motivation and individual differences.

Program content: cz. 1

The lecture covers the following specific issues:

1) Introduction to the subject of the lecture.

2) Genesis and characterization of biological concepts of stress;

3) Genesis and characteristics of medical concepts of stress;

4) The origin and characteristics of psychological concepts of stress;

5) Place of Polish concepts of stress in world literature;

6). Classification of sources of stress.

7) Characteristics of climatic sources of stress.

8) Characteristics of physical stress sources: 1 (noise, vibration, lighting, microwave and ionizing radiation);

10) Characteristics of physical stress sources: 2. (hypoxia, acceleration, weightlessness);

11) Characteristics of chronobiological sources of stress: part. 1 (circadian rhythms and seasonal).

11) Characteristics of chronobiological sources of stress: part 2.

(sudden change of time zone);

12) Characteristics of psychological sources of stress: 1 (sensory, perceptual and social isolation);

13) Characteristics of psychological sources of stress: cz. 2 (overload, extreme situations);

Efekt kształcenia:Umiejętność identyfikacji źródeł stresu oraz posługiwania się teoretycznymi pojęciami opisującymi stres. Nabycie umiejętności stawiania diagnozy reakcji na stres oraz strategii i stylów radzenia sobie ze stresem.

Wymagania wstępne: zaliczenie przedmiotów psychologii teoretycznej, zwłaszcza z zakresu osobowości, emocji, motywacji i różnic indywidualnych.
